We all must have experienced a point in our lives where we really felt like we had lost direction and hope. Everything feels very messy, doesn’t go as desired, and feels like it’s going through the worst phase of life. Problems come over and over, leaving you feeling tired, confused, ashamed, and various other uncomfortable feelings. This point is often referred to as the lowest point in our lives. Being in this situation makes it difficult for us to be at peace with ourselves.

There are some things below that you can do when facing your lowest point in life.

  1. Crying
Cry as much as possible. There is nothing wrong with crying. Crying doesn’t mean you’re weak. Crying has many health benefits, such as helping the body eliminate toxins, relieving stress, helping people sleep better, lowering blood pressure, and strengthening the immune system.
  2. Sleeping
After you’re tired of crying, maybe sleeping can help you forget your worries for a moment. Sleep can also improve body functions and give rest to the brain that is overworking to solve problems, so our bodies are ready to face tomorrow.
  3. Exercised
Jogging, kickboxing, gym work, swimming, or whatever sport you like can have a positive impact on your mood. Various studies have shown that regular exercise can reduce a person’s stress. This is because regular exercise can lower the hormones cortisol and epinephrine as well as increase the hormone norepinephrine as an antidepressant.
  4. Talk to Someone
Talk to someone you can trust. This person can be anyone, such as family, friends, or a partner. Telling what you feel and hugging the people you love can make you calm and reduce the stress that accumulates. So don’t be damned alone. All you need to remember is to be confident and believe that this situation will not last forever. Believe in yourself that you can rise back and tell yourself that it will all pass away.
  5. Start a Plan
Write down your objectives and next steps while keeping in mind the larger picture and long-term objectives. Take into account weekly and daily activities to go toward your objectives. Dress differently and incorporate wellness activities to feel better. Make the appropriate connections to move forward each day and toward your goals. By enrolling in online courses or attending training, you can invest in yourself and advance your knowledge and abilities. As a result, you’ll get to know new people, develop, and learn strategies for overcoming obstacles in life.

To overcome a low point in life, check your overall wellness and seek professional help from a therapist or psychologist. Remember that it's normal to experience multiple low points, but attempting to recover will strengthen you. The lessons learned from previous experiences can help you recover even better next time.
